The July meeting of the Mayo Organic Group will take place from 8pm at the Bishop O’Healy Centre, Mayo Abbey on Thursday July 15.

Members of the Mayo Organic Group, which meets monthly at Bishop O’Healy Centre, Mayo Abbey, would like to welcome new members to their next meeting on February 19.

The group would like to welcome new members, and guests, to their next meeting, an introduction to making soft cheese. Meetings are held monthly on the third Thursday of the month, at Bishop O’Healy Centre, Mayo Abbey at 8pm. 

The annual outing will take place on May 23 to Castle Leslie in Monaghan.

Mayo Organic Group would like to invite members and non-members to watch The Power of Community on Thursday July 16 at 8pm.

Mayo Organic Group would like to remind members and other interested parties that the next meeting will be a movie night at Bishop O’Healy Centre, Mayo Abbey. Come along and find out about low-maintenance food production from ‘A Year In A Forest Garden’. This starts at 8pm on Thursday August 20 – bring your own popcorn! A good turnout at the July movie night saw members learn how Cuba survived their peak oil crises.

Sinn Féin councillor Thérèse Ruane has welcomed the backing of members of the Castlebar Town Council for setting up a community garden in the town.
